The Navgraha Mantra is a collective prayer to all nine celestial bodies (grahas) in Vedic astrology. The nine planets govern different aspects of life: Sun (soul, authority), Moon (mind, emotions), Mars (energy, courage), Mercury (intellect, communication), Jupiter (wisdom, fortune), Venus (love, beauty), Saturn (karma, discipline), Rahu (worldly desires), and Ketu (spirituality, liberation). The Navgraha Stotra is recited during Navgraha Puja, which is performed at the beginning of most Hindu rituals, weddings, and havans. It is also recommended as a daily practice for overall planetary balance. Visiting the Navgraha temple at Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu is considered especially auspicious.
