Discover your Ayurvedic constitution, body vulnerability map, and health vulnerability windows from your Vedic birth chart.
Medical Astrology, known as Jyotish Chikitsa in the Vedic tradition, is the ancient discipline that correlates planetary positions at birth with an individual's physical constitution and health predispositions. Rooted in texts like the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS) and the Charaka Samhita, this system views the horoscope not as a medical diagnosis but as a constitutional blueprint — a map of inherent strengths and vulnerabilities encoded at the moment of birth.
Ayurveda identifies three fundamental bio-energies (doshas) that govern all physiological functions. Vata (air + ether) is ruled by Saturn and Rahu — it governs the nervous system, movement, and elimination. Pitta (fire + water) is ruled by the Sun and Mars — it governs metabolism, digestion, and transformation. Kapha (earth + water) is ruled by the Moon, Jupiter, and Venus — it governs structure, lubrication, and immunity. The relative strength of these planetary rulers in your birth chart determines your Prakriti, or innate constitutional type.
In Jyotish, the 6th house (Ari Bhava) rules disease, the immune response, and daily health habits. The 8th house (Randhra Bhava) governs chronic illness, surgical interventions, and longevity. The 12th house (Vyaya Bhava) relates to hospitalisation, convalescence, and loss of vitality. Malefic planets occupying or aspecting these houses — or their lords being weak, combust, or debilitated — indicate specific vulnerabilities. Benefic influences on the same houses, conversely, grant constitutional resilience.
The Prakriti concept bridges Jyotish and Ayurveda. Your Ascendant sign, Moon sign, and the strongest planets in your chart collectively determine whether you are predominantly Vata, Pitta, or Kapha — or a dual-dosha type. This is not a personality quiz; it is derived from precise planetary longitudes computed for your exact birth time and coordinates. A Pitta-dominant chart with Mars conjunct the Ascendant lord, for instance, predisposes toward inflammatory conditions and heat-related disorders.
Vedic astrology uses Vimshottari Dasha, a 120-year planetary period system, to time life events. When the dasha of a planet that rules or afflicts the 6th, 8th, or 12th house becomes active, latent health vulnerabilities can manifest. Saturn's dasha may bring joint or nervous-system issues for Vata-dominant charts; Mars's dasha may trigger fevers or surgical situations for Pitta types. Our engine analyses these dasha transitions for the next 10 years and flags windows of elevated health sensitivity.
This tool implements classical BPHS house-based analysis — not generic sun-sign predictions. It computes planetary strengths (Shadbala), house affliction scores, dasha timelines, and current transit overlays to generate a personalised health profile. Each body region is mapped to its Jyotish house (Head = 1st, Throat = 2nd, etc.), and vulnerability scores are derived from the aggregate affliction of that house. The Charaka Samhita's disease-classification principles inform the disease susceptibility patterns. All calculations use Lahiri Ayanamsa by default and are performed entirely in your browser — no data is sent to external servers.
