The cutter; the one who cuts

Presided by Agni, the fire god. Krittika is associated with the Pleiades star cluster — the six divine nurses who raised Lord Kartikeya (Murugan), the commander of the celestial army. The name means "cutter," reflecting Agni's purifying, separating power.
